Simple Christmas mantel + essentials

One of my favorite things about the holidays is decorating the mantel. I like to keep it simple with a garland and a few taller items for height. This year I used a piece of art I found at HomeGoods, and a couple taper candles. If you’re looking for a garland that’s easy to work with, you have to try this one from Threshold with Studio McGee! I literally just laid it on the mantel and I was done! I didn’t even need any nails or 3M hooks to hold it in place. I love all the different greenery and textures.

I found these stockings at World Market last year. I love the tassels and all the texture. It’s hard to tell if they’re still available because they’re on the website, but nothing happens when you click on them, so I’ll include a round up of similar neutral stockings in this post just in case that’s more than a little glitch.

The wood candle holder is from a boutique type shop so unfortunately I can’t link it for you, but I can link the brass candle holder. It comes in a set of 3 for only $25, and they’re beautiful!

I used small clear 3M hooks to hang the stockings.

  1. Hello!! Your home is just stunning! I was just curious of when you do your wood stain of weathered oak and special walnut do you do one coat of each? What coat do you do first? Or do you mix the two stains together and apply!?

    Thanks so much!
