This is one of those updates that I’d been thinking about doing for a long time. I finally did it, and I’m loving the change from our black hardware. The brass adds so much warmth and softness to our all white kitchen. I seem to keep moving away from black accents in a lot of the house. Funny how your tastes change.
I knew I wanted a “pull” style for the drawers and loved the look of one at Pottery Barn, but they were too expensive for my budget. I ended up going with these similarly styled drawer pulls and I love them! The color is called “champagne bronze”. To find knobs that would match, I just searched for champagne bronze knobs and came up with these knobs for the cabinets. They are nothing special, but they match!
A few things I learned in the process:
When I first started looking around for drawer pulls, I was only looking for 3″ center to center pulls because that’s what we had. Then it dawned on me that we could always drill new holes so I wouldn’t be limited in my choices. These are 5 1/16″ center to center so we drilled new holes and the new pulls cover up the old holes! No wood filler needed!
I also learned that kitchen cabinets get a lot of wear and tear around the hardware, so when I took off the old hardware I had to give the area a light sanding and paint touch up. Expect this little bit of extra work when you switch out your hardware. It makes a huge difference!
